FG Assures Nigerians in Diaspora of Stronger Security Measures

The Federal Government has assured Nigerians living abroad that it is intensifying efforts to improve security and make the country safer for citizens returning home. Defence Minister Christopher Musa gave the assurance during a meeting with Nigerians in Angola on the sidelines of an African Union summit in Luanda. He said the government is expanding the manpower and operational capacity of the Armed Forces and other security agencies. Musa said regional instability in the Sahel has contributed to security threats, but border-management measures are being strengthened to curb incursions. Interior Minister Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo also cited progress in identity management and data protection, while NiDCOM pledged continued support for Nigerians in the diaspora.
