Do Igbos Actually Benefit from Staying in Nigeria?
I believe Igbos gain little from Nigeria beyond some federal appointments. On a per capita basis, Igbo investments in Lagos aren’t higher than what Yorubas invest in Port Harcourt. If the country splits, businesses will continue and properties won’t be abandoned. The only change would be voting rights, but Igbos have never held even 1% of elected offices in Lagos. No group truly needs Nigeria in its current form.
