20-Year-Old Arrested for Allegedly Killing Father in Anambra
Police in Anambra State have arrested 20-year-old Pascal Ogbogu over the alleged killing of his 56-year-old father in Abatete, Idemili North Local Government Area. Police said the incident occurred on the evening of August 25. Following a distress call, officers from the Eziowelle Police Division, assisted by family members and Abatete Vigilante personnel, found the victim dead with a deep machete wound to the throat. The suspect allegedly fled after the incident but was arrested early on August 26 after community members helped security operatives trace him. The body has been taken to a mortuary for preservation and autopsy. The Commissioner of Police has ordered the transfer of the case to the State Criminal Investigation Department for further investigation and assured the public that due process will be followed.
