New Orleans Producer Arrested Over Alleged Intentional HIV Exposure of Artist
A New Orleans music producer, Mykel Cook, has been arrested and charged with intentional exposure to HIV following allegations involving bounce artist Jayvonda Bazile, known professionally as BOG Vonnie. Court records show that Cook was initially held without bond before a magistrate set bail at $250,000 and issued a protective order for Bazile. He has since been released on bond. Bazile said she chose to speak publicly to encourage HIV testing within the music community and to raise concerns that others may have been exposed. The allegations remain before the court, and Cook is entitled to due process.
