FRSC Says Its Nationwide Rescue Network Includes Over 170 Ambulances

The Federal Road Safety Corps says its emergency-response network includes more than 170 ambulances and 60 Zebra points across Nigeria for road crash rescue operations. The corps, however, said this figure does not confirm how many ambulances are currently serviceable. It said an updated fleet-status report would be needed to determine the number presently operational. FRSC said response times can be affected by crash location, traffic, distance, access to the scene, the quality of information from callers and whether rescue teams are handling other emergencies. The agency said improving rescue deployment and collaboration with other emergency bodies remains a 2026 priority.
