From Loyal Defender to Disillusioned Critic: My Journey with Nnamdi Kanu
For five years I stood by Mazi Nnamdi Kanu. I defended him from accusations linking him to Simon Ekpa’s criminal acts. I weathered insults and threats as I amplified his message. Many of our people in Biafraland kept faith because I never abandoned our leader. But I received no gratitude in return. My calls for clarification fell on deaf ears. Instead of addressing serious concerns, we faced threats and silence. While I and others suffered disappearances and worse, Nnamdi Kanu’s siblings and lawyers met in secrecy and endangered our people. Despite warnings from proven IPOB lieutenants, he pursued risky legal battles alone. That decision led to his terrorism conviction and a 20-year sentence. He never apologized or sought reconciliation. Instead, he cast his loyal followers as villains. I refuse to accept this betrayal. This is not rebellion. It is a demand for truth, accountability, and respect for the sacrifices many made. We must keep asking questions until we find closure.
