Norwegian Teen Sentenced to 20 Years in UK Over Planned Assassination
A 19-year-old Norwegian, Johannes Kongsnes Natland, has been sentenced to 20 years in prison in the United Kingdom for conspiring to carry out an assassination. He must serve at least 13 years before becoming eligible for release. Police arrested him at a hotel in March 2025, hours before the planned attack. Investigators said he had travelled from Norway, collected two firearms and 19 rounds of ammunition in Huddersfield, and received detailed instructions through online messages. Authorities said he was allegedly offered €25,000 for the shooting by a person using the name “Agent 47”. Although investigators suspected links to an organised crime network, they said the intended target and any direct connection to Iran were not established.
