Osun APC Forms Separate Tinubu Campaign Council After Adeleke’s Move

The Osun State chapter of the All Progressives Congress has formed a separate 168-member campaign council to mobilise support for President Bola Tinubu’s re-election and the party’s legislative candidates in 2027. Governorship candidate Bola Oyebamiji will lead the council, with state party chairman Tajudeen Lawal as deputy director-general. The move follows Governor Ademola Adeleke’s inauguration of an Osun campaign council for Tinubu, with Adeleke as coordinator. APC leaders said they were not consulted about its formation. Adeleke said his support was for Tinubu’s re-election, not for APC candidates contesting legislative seats. The new council includes the party’s senatorial and House of Representatives candidates, alongside several current and former Osun political figures. Its formation follows disagreements within the party over the earlier council’s composition and leadership.
