Bayelsa APC Chieftain Alleges Exclusion of Old Members in Opuama Ward
A Bayelsa APC chieftain, Chief Inko Brightstar, has asked Governor Douye Diri and the party’s state leadership to address alleged marginalisation of longstanding members in Ward 13, Opuama Kingdom, Southern Ijaw LGA. Brightstar said old members should be fairly considered for appointments and party opportunities following the arrival of new entrants. He cited unverified reports of 20 appointment slots for the ward and called for a transparent, consultative process if the allocation is confirmed. He also alleged that some old members were not consulted over polling-unit committee lists. Brightstar requested a review by party authorities, stressing that his appeal was intended to promote reconciliation and inclusive grassroots leadership. Responses from the governor and APC leadership were not included.
