Army GOC Orders Akure Troops to Intensify Operations Against Criminals
The General Officer Commanding of the Nigerian Army’s 2 Division, Major General Auwalu Mahmuda, has directed troops of the 32 Artillery Brigade in Akure, Ondo State, to sustain operations against criminal groups in their area. During his maiden operational visit to Owena Cantonment, Mahmuda commended the troops’ response to local security challenges. He urged them to remain alert, disciplined and professional while denying criminals room to operate. He also said the Army leadership remains committed to personnel welfare under the “Soldiers First” initiative. Mahmuda noted that improved remuneration was meant to recognise troops’ sacrifices and called on them to raise their performance in return.
