IED Blast on Zamfara’s Anka-Bagega Road Kills 10, Including Fresh Graduate and Family
An improvised explosive device detonated at about 6:15 p.m. on the Bagega–Anka route in Zamfara State. A commercial Volkswagen Golf carrying passengers struck the device, leaving ten dead and seven injured. Police initially reported one fatality and seven injuries. During follow-up searches, tactical teams recovered nine additional bodies between Tungar Kudaku and Bagega communities. Among the victims were Abban Bagega, a recent graduate of the Federal University Gusau, his father Alhaji Salisu Bagega, and his younger brother. Security operatives have since intensified visibility patrols along the corridor. Residents are urged to report any suspicious movement or objects as investigations into the attack continue.
