Gunmen Abduct PLASU Student, Stab Student Leader in Bokkos Attack

Gunmen abducted Favour Ayuba, a 100-level Mass Communication student of Plateau State University, during an attack on an off-campus student community in Bokkos on Saturday night, October 31. Another student, the president of the NARS PLASU chapter and National Welfare Minister of NARS, was reportedly stabbed several times during the attack. The abducted student was said to have been with another female student when the gunmen struck. University management has confirmed receiving reports of the shooting. A staff member said it was the second such incident in the area within four weeks, raising fresh concerns about the safety of students living off campus. The university’s hostels can reportedly accommodate about 1,000 students, while the institution has close to 20,000 students. Security agencies have been urged to rescue the student and protect residents in nearby communities.
