Power Minister, DisCos Discuss 24-Hour Electricity Plan for High-Demand Zones
The Minister of Power, Joseph Tegbe, has met with electricity distribution companies to discuss proposed Energy Zones aimed at providing more reliable, round-the-clock power in high-demand areas. The proposed zones would cover the Lagos axis, Abuja-Kaduna-Kano corridor, and Enugu-Port Harcourt axis. They are intended to improve electricity supply for homes, businesses and industries. Tegbe said the plan would address distribution constraints, increase power uptake and improve revenue collection by DisCos. The Federal Government also said it would support infrastructure upgrades to match growing demand.
