Dangote Says Refinery Alone Is Worth Over $40 Billion, Dismisses Wealth Rankings

Aliko Dangote says published estimates of his personal wealth do not capture the full value of his businesses, especially because many of them are not publicly listed. Speaking in a recent interview, the Dangote Group president said wealth rankings are distracting and that the Dangote Refinery alone is worth more than $40 billion. He said his focus is on expanding production, creating jobs and building value across Africa. Dangote said the group aims to generate more than $100 billion in annual revenue by 2030. He added that Africa must reduce its reliance on imports by investing more in local manufacturing, using its young population, arable land and mineral resources to drive growth.
