Inside the Phantom PFIPC: How a Ghost Agency Threatens Gbajabiamila’s Tenure
A recent report exposes the Presidential Foreign Intervention Promotion Council (PFIPC) as a full-fledged body on paper despite the presidency now insisting it never existed. The council had a gov.ng website, federal secretariat office, nine phantom bank accounts at the CBN, recruitment approval and a N27.4 billion line in the 2026 budget. Records show PFIPC hosted foreign envoys, secured a civil service waiver for 300 staff, and even shared photos with the EFCC chairman and former presidents. Yet on June 11, the President’s Chief of Staff publicly denied its existence and warned institutions not to deal with its director. Without answering how the agency secured approvals, funding and facilities, Chief of Staff Femi Gbajabiamila’s disclaimer only deepens the mystery. Prince Adeyemi, the would-be PFIPC head, now says Gbajabiamila should resign over this administrative collapse.
