Nigeria Needs More Than New Parties to Deliver Real Change
Voting out a party or candidate is not enough if the political culture remains the same. Nigerians need leaders and citizens who focus on making basic needs and economic opportunity accessible to everyone. Government should make it easier for people to escape poverty, regardless of tribe, religion or party affiliation. This includes reliable water and electricity, healthcare, education, vocational training, food, housing, safety and an environment where businesses can grow. Politicians should not wait until election season to identify with the struggles of ordinary people. Anyone seeking public office should be judged by practical efforts to improve lives, not by slogans or claims to speak for “the streets.”
