INEC Has No Preferred Candidate or Party for 2027, Says Amupitan

INEC Chairman Professor Josiah Amupitan says the commission will remain neutral in the 2027 presidential election and has no preferred candidate or political party. Speaking at the National Peace Accord, he urged political parties to focus on solutions and measurable manifestos rather than insults and violence during campaigns. Amupitan said preparations are underway, including logistics for about 1.4 million ad hoc personnel across more than 176,000 polling units nationwide.
