APC Leaders Raise Concerns Over Wike’s Coalition Plan Ahead of 2027
Senior figures in the All Progressives Congress are reportedly questioning the National Rainbow Coalition associated with FCT Minister Nyesom Wike, saying it could weaken President Bola Tinubu’s support ahead of the 2027 election. Wike, who is still a member of the Peoples Democratic Party, says the coalition is intended to support Tinubu’s re-election. However, APC leaders fear that candidates contesting under different party platforms could confuse voters, especially in rural communities. At a recent meeting in Abuja, participants reportedly warned that some coalition members could publicly support Tinubu while privately directing supporters to vote for PDP candidates across the ballot, according to a media report.
