Ododo Orders Daytime Security Operations in Kogi, Demands Respect for Rights
Kogi State Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo has directed security agencies to conduct operations during the day to improve transparency and reduce controversies surrounding arrests. Speaking at a meeting with first-class traditional rulers in Lokoja on September 7, 2026, Ododo urged security operatives to respect citizens’ fundamental rights, including the right to a fair hearing. He also called on traditional rulers to promote peace, unity and harmony in their communities, noting that stronger local cooperation can help prevent crime and improve security across the state.
