Are Online Political Supporters Genuine or Paid Influencers?
I think relying mainly on paid online supporters is a poor political strategy. When the same accounts repeatedly defend a candidate, it can make the support look coordinated rather than genuine. Political campaigns should encourage real supporters to engage openly and independently. That would make public debate more credible and reduce accusations of paid propaganda. I also question whether those promoting politicians online receive any meaningful long-term benefit for their efforts.
