Soludo Declares End to Monday Sit-at-Home as Security Improves in Anambra

Chukwuma Soludo announced that security has significantly improved in Anambra State and that the long-running Monday sit-at-home order is now effectively over. He made the declaration on March 17 during his second-term inauguration at Alex Ekwueme Square, Awka, in the presence of former Presidents Goodluck Jonathan, Olusegun Obasanjo, and Vice President Kashim Shettima. Soludo highlighted key achievements in the fight against insecurity, noting that 62 criminal camps have been dismantled and eight local governments previously under siege have been liberated. He credited these successes to the Homeland Security Law 2025 and enforcement under the “Oso Soludo” initiative. The governor also pointed to a booming Christmas season with over 10,000 daily visitors to Solution City through January 10. He said schools, markets, businesses, and public offices are now fully operational across the state.
