2027 Presidential Race: Early Campaign Moves by APC, NDC and ADC
As the 2027 presidential race gathers pace, we review the campaign activities of the APC, NDC and ADC so far. The APC has rolled out its Renewed Hope and City Boy campaigns, announced a presidential campaign council and held rallies in states including Zamfara, Kaduna, Delta and Kano. Its campaign structure and fundraising list have also generated controversy. The NDC campaign appears centred largely on Peter Obi rather than the party itself. Tensions between sections of the Obidient movement, the Kwankwasiyya group and party leaders have been reported, while the party is still consulting on a campaign council. Unlike the APC, it has yet to stage major rallies or establish a strong nationwide campaign identity. The ADC has also struggled to build campaign momentum around Atiku Abubakar. Internal factions, court cases and the late formation of a reconciliation committee have affected morale. So far, the party has not announced a campaign council or clear campaign stops, while much attention has focused on legal challenges involving the APC candidate.
