Depletion: When Love Becomes a Burden

When love is no longer a feeling but a burden—something I must continually earn. When every emotion becomes tangled, and I realise the person I love only reaches for me when she needs something. She takes freely, even for others, yet gives little of herself in return. She says she loves me, but her actions never make me feel it. I may have access to her body, but never to her heart or mind. Our conversations are hollow, while her hands keep reaching into my pockets. Do I wait until there is nothing left of me, or do I finally change the locks?
