I Believe Nigeria Should Stay Neutral in Any Wider Global Conflict
I am concerned by rising tensions involving Russia, Ukraine, the United Kingdom, France and NATO. Reports of military preparations and official warnings across parts of Europe have increased fears of a wider conflict, although many of the claims circulating online need independent verification. My view is that African countries, including Nigeria, should avoid being drawn into wars driven by foreign powers. Our leaders should prioritise diplomacy, national security and the welfare of Nigerians rather than commit troops to conflicts that do not directly serve our interests. Nigeria has serious domestic challenges that require attention. I do not support sending Nigerians to fight in another country’s geopolitical confrontation, and I believe any decision of that scale must be openly explained to the public.
