IPOB Denies Plans to Resume Monday Sit-at-Home in South-East
The Indigenous People of Biafra has denied reports that it plans to resume enforcing Monday sit-at-home orders across the South-East from October 12, 2026. The group said it did not issue any directive, voice note or instruction to its members or the Eastern Security Network to enforce a sit-at-home in the region or Imo State. It asked the Nigeria Police Force to provide evidence for the alleged intelligence report linking it to the plan. IPOB said it remains committed to pursuing Biafran self-determination through peaceful means. It also restated its planned election boycott and called on the Federal Government to address hunger, unemployment and economic hardship. The police had not responded at the time of the report.
