Troops Rescue Eight Abductees, Arrest Terror Suspects in Borno and Adamawa
Nigerian troops rescued eight abductees and arrested suspected terrorists, kidnappers and logistics suppliers during operations conducted from September 11 to 13 in Borno and Adamawa states. In Gwoza, Borno, troops rescued eight people who reportedly escaped from a terrorist enclave near Armuda and Gava villages. Troops also arrested suspected suppliers and collaborators in Konduga and Kukawa, recovering phones, bicycles, cash and food items allegedly meant for terrorists. In Adamawa, soldiers arrested three suspected terrorists in Hong and six suspected kidnappers during a raid at Soktu Hill in Song LGA. The report said the kidnapping suspects allegedly confessed to abducting victims for ransom and killing some who could not pay. Separate operations in Kwara, Plateau, Benue and the FCT led to the disruption of an IED threat, arrests over illegal mining and pipeline vandalism, and intervention in a communal clash.
