Family Rejects Autopsy After Mary Habila’s Death at David Umahi’s Uburu Residence
The family of Mary Habila has filed an affidavit asking police to end their investigation and release her body for burial. They say they do not suspect foul play and refuse to consent to an autopsy. In a sworn statement before the Ebonyi State High Court, her father, Tanko Habila Wisdom, said Mary worked for three years as a personal nurse to the Minister of Works and his staff. He insisted the decision was voluntary and free of external pressure. Despite the family’s objection, the Ebonyi State Police Command says it will press on with inquiries and arrange a post-mortem. Police spokesperson SP Joshua Ukandu confirmed investigators have visited the scene and obtained witness statements.
