Multiple Killed Including Soldiers as Bandits Raid Kaiama, Kwara
In the early hours of April 20, suspected bandits launched a surprise attack on Kaiama Local Government Area in Kwara State. The assailants reportedly sent a threat letter days earlier, heightening fear among residents. Around 3:00 a.m., gunmen opened fire indiscriminately and detonated an explosive at a local military camp. Security operatives from the Nigerian Army and local vigilante groups engaged the attackers in a fierce gunfight that lasted until about 5:00 a.m. Sources say several soldiers and civilians may have been killed. The bandits also seized military patrol vehicles and motorcycles before fleeing. Authorities are still assessing the full extent of casualties and damage.
