Calls for Justice After Ibadan Mob Allegedly Burns Man to Death Over Fraud Accusation
Nigerians are calling for justice after Oderinde Saheed, known as Seedorf, was allegedly beaten and burned to death by a mob in Ajia, Ona-Ara LGA of Ibadan. Reports say the attack followed a road accident on August 25 in which a pedestrian was allegedly hit. Bystanders reportedly accused Saheed of being an internet fraudster without evidence and attacked him instead of allowing authorities to investigate. His younger brother, who was in the vehicle, was also reportedly assaulted and is receiving treatment for critical injuries. As of publication, there was no confirmation of arrests or an official statement on the investigation. The case has renewed concerns about jungle justice and calls for police to identify and prosecute everyone involved.
