Boko Haram Burns Army Base, Police Post and Hospital in Ngala, Borno
Late Tuesday night, suspected Boko Haram insurgents launched a coordinated assault on the Forward Operating Base in Logomani, Ngala Local Government Area, Borno State. One soldier was killed during the intense firefight. The attackers used sporadic gunfire to scatter residents before setting ablaze two classrooms, a police outpost and a primary healthcare centre in the community. In a statement, the Joint Task Force Operation Hadin Kai confirmed troops quickly regrouped, mounted a counter-offensive, inflicted significant casualties and forced the terrorists to withdraw. Two gun trucks and some combat enablers were damaged during the engagement. On Wednesday, the Executive Chairman of Ngala Local Government Council inspected the damage and said his findings would be forwarded to the state government. He urged residents to stay calm and cooperate with security agencies.
