Andrew Luster: Conviction, Sentence Reduction and Reported Net Worth
Andrew Luster is an American heir to the Max Factor cosmetics fortune. He was convicted in 2003 of drugging and sexually assaulting women, after fleeing before his trial concluded. He was captured in Mexico later that year and returned to the United States. His original 124-year prison sentence was later set aside on sentencing grounds, while the conviction remained. In 2013, a California court imposed a new 50-year sentence. Two victims later won civil judgments against Luster totalling $40 million. Reports said his trust and property holdings had once been valued at about $31 million, but he later sold assets and declared bankruptcy.
