MOSIEND Urges Presidency to Maintain NDDC Stability and Project Continuity

MOSIEND has urged the Presidency and other stakeholders to prioritise stability, continuity and public interest in the Niger Delta Development Commission. The group said frequent leadership changes could disrupt long-term planning and leave development projects unfinished. It said the current NDDC leadership has focused on completing abandoned projects, improving procurement and governance processes, and expanding stakeholder engagement. MOSIEND argued that projects should be completed regardless of the administration that began them. The group noted that the Commission had nine Managing Directors between 2015 and 2023, which it said contributed to policy discontinuity. It called for concerns about performance or accountability to be addressed through statutory processes without unnecessarily disrupting the agency's work.
