Northern APC Youths Threaten to Withdraw Support for Tinubu’s 2027 Bid Over Alleged Marginalisation

Northern youth groups within the All Progressives Congress have threatened to reconsider support for President Bola Tinubu’s 2027 re-election bid over alleged marginalisation in political appointments and youth leadership positions. The groups, led by the North-West APC Youth Stakeholders Forum, said they have directed 1,378 registered support-group leaders across the 19 northern states and the FCT to begin consultations. They argue that northern youths have been excluded from key opportunities within the party and the Federal Government. The forum also alleged that youth political structures and support groups linked to Seyi Tinubu receive preferential treatment, particularly in the South-West. It called on the APC leadership to ensure fair representation across regions, warning that unresolved grievances could weaken party unity and grassroots mobilisation ahead of 2027. The Presidency, APC national leadership and Seyi Tinubu had not responded to the allegations at the time of the report.
