Onanuga Recasts “MAD” as Tinubu Supporters’ 2027 Re-election Slogan

Presidential adviser Bayo Onanuga has responded to Rotimi Amaechi’s criticism of President Bola Tinubu’s economic policies and possible re-election bid in 2027. Amaechi, speaking at a town hall meeting in Benin City, described the removal of fuel subsidy as reckless. He said people who would vote for Tinubu again were “mad” and “thieves.” In response, Onanuga said Tinubu’s supporters were “MAD,” using the word to mean motivated, assured and determined. He said they remained focused on the president’s re-election in 2027.
