FOSAD Urges Igbo Entrepreneurs to Turn Lagos-China Trade Tensions Into South-East Industrial Growth
The Forum of South-East Academic Doctors has urged Igbo entrepreneurs to treat the recent trade tensions involving some Lagos traders and Chinese importers as a push for stronger manufacturing in the South-East. The group said competition with foreign importers should not fuel hostility. Instead, it should encourage investment in factories, technology hubs, industrial parks, logistics facilities and local supply chains across the five South-East states. It called for coordinated support from governments, traditional institutions, business groups and development agencies. The forum also highlighted the need for better electricity, transport, finance, research, regulation and seaport infrastructure to help the region become a major industrial and technology hub.
