WikiHeritage Fellowship to Document Women’s Roles in Pre-Colonial Lagos
WikiHeritage Fellowship is returning for a second edition focused on the histories of women in pre-colonial Lagos. The eight-week programme will train young historians, heritage advocates and enthusiasts to research and document women’s social, economic, cultural and political contributions. Participants will work with records from the Lagos State Records and Archives Bureau. They will receive training in archival research, digitisation, reliable sourcing, digital storytelling and Wikipedia editing. The fellowship runs from September 21 to November 6, 2026. It will end with a public showcase, awards and the launch of an Archives-to-Wiki Network to support continued heritage documentation in Lagos.
