FG, NLC Agree on ₦70,000 Monthly Transport Support From November

The Federal Government and the Nigeria Labour Congress have agreed on a six-month monthly transport support package of ₦70,000 for workers, scheduled to begin in November. The agreement also approves a peculiar allowance effective from May 1, 2026. Arrears are expected to be paid in three equal instalments starting in November. Health workers are to receive 19 months of arrears within three months from December 2026. The parties also discussed tax relief, agricultural workers' allowances and adjustments to CONHESS salary costs.
