Man Arrested for Raping and Impregnating 15-Year-Old in Anambra
Police in Awka have arrested a middle-aged man, Tochukwu Nwora, for allegedly raping and impregnating a 15-year-old girl. The raid on June 17 followed a tip-off about youths using crystal methamphetamine, known locally as Mkpuru Mmiri, near St. Paul’s Secondary School in Achalla. Preliminary investigations reveal the victim was reportedly assaulted multiple times by several adult males in Nando, Nteje, and Achalla. Investigators say the suspects exploited her vulnerable situation by offering small sums of money for sex. The Commissioner of Police has ordered that the case be transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department for a thorough probe. Authorities will also examine the role of the victim’s guardian and pursue prosecution against all involved parties.
