FG, DisCos Consider 24-Hour Power Supply Zones in Key Economic Corridors
The Federal Government and selected electricity distribution companies are considering dedicated 24-hour power supply zones in high-demand commercial and industrial areas. The proposed pilot corridors are Lagos; Abuja-Kaduna-Kano; and Enugu-Port Harcourt. The plan is intended to improve electricity delivery to homes, businesses and industries, while helping DisCos take up and distribute available generation. The Ministry of Power said discussions will focus on the infrastructure, operational and commercial requirements needed to address distribution gaps and make the zones viable.
