Kano Police Arrest 13 Suspects in Raids on Drug and Thuggery Hotspots
Kano State Police Command says it arrested 13 suspects in separate intelligence-led operations targeting alleged drug peddling and thuggery in Panshekara and Kunchi/Ghari LGAs. Police said eight suspects were intercepted at a black spot in Panshekara on 9 September. Officers reportedly recovered capsules and tablets suspected to be pregabalin, diazepam and Exol, as well as dried leaves suspected to be cannabis. In a separate operation at Matanfada Market in Kunchi/Ghari, five people were arrested over allegations of intimidating traders and residents. The suspects remain in custody as investigations continue, and police said they will be charged after the investigation is concluded. The command urged residents, community leaders and vigilante groups to continue providing useful information on suspicious activity.
