US President Donald Trump has urged Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy to stop attacks on Russian diesel refineries, saying the strikes are worsening pressure on global fuel supplies. Speaking to reporters on Sunday, Trump said Ukrainian forces could target other facilities but should avoid diesel infrastructure because of its importance to the global fuel market. He said the United States had raised the matter directly with Kyiv. Trump also argued that the disruption in diesel supplies was driven more by the Russia-Ukraine war and refinery attacks than by tensions in the Middle East.
