Nine Killed in Fresh Plateau Attacks as Women and Children Flee Barkin Ladi
At least nine people, including a pastor and five passengers, were reportedly killed in separate attacks across Barkin Ladi, Riyom and nearby communities in Plateau State between Saturday night and Sunday morning. The passengers were attacked while travelling to Gana-Ropp. Two people, including a pastor, were reportedly killed while heading to church in Dorowa Babuje. Other fatalities were reported in Baten Wereng and Ratyidi. Residents of Dorowa Babuje said persistent gunshots forced women and children to leave for safer locations. Military personnel have reportedly been deployed, while community leaders have called for sustained security operations and the arrest of those responsible. Governor Caleb Mutfwang said his administration would continue working with security agencies to protect lives and property across the state.
