FG Inaugurates Four Kano Power Projects to Expand Grid Capacity by 544MW
The Federal Government has inaugurated four transmission projects in Kano expected to add 544MW of wheeling capacity to the state and the national grid. The projects include a 2×40MVA 132/33kV substation in Walalambe, additional 300MVA and 100MVA transformers at Kumbotso, and 100MVA transformers at the Dakata and Dan Agundi substations. The new facilities are expected to ease pressure on overloaded substations, improve bulk electricity supply to industrial, commercial and residential consumers, and help serve previously suppressed demand. Authorities also urged host communities to protect the installations and report vandalism or activity around transmission corridors.
