An old video of Nyesom Wike praising Peter Obi during the 2022 inauguration of the Nkpolu-Oroworukwo Flyover Bridge in Port Harcourt has resurfaced online. At the event, Wike described Obi as someone with the qualities to lead Nigeria and said Rivers State would provide logistical support whenever he came to campaign. Obi attended with his running mate at the time, Ahmed Datti Baba-Ahmed. The clip was reposted on September 9, 2026, with the question, “What changed?” It has renewed debate over shifting political alliances, as Wike now serves as FCT minister under President Bola Tinubu while Obi remains a leading opposition figure.
