Mu’azu Assumes Duty as Apapa Customs Controller, Pledges Faster Cargo Clearance
Comptroller Murtala Mu’azu has assumed office as the 33rd Customs Area Controller of the Apapa Area Command. He pledged to strengthen revenue collection, trade facilitation, enforcement and discipline at Nigeria’s busiest port command. Mu’azu said legitimate cargo should move without avoidable delays once all requirements have been met. He promised closer collaboration with importers, exporters, licensed customs agents, shipping firms, terminal operators and other port agencies. He succeeds Comptroller Emmanuel Oshoba, under whose tenure the command recorded a monthly revenue collection of ₦323 billion in July 2026 and ₦28.102 billion in a single day in August. Mu’azu said his team would work to sustain and surpass those records while improving professionalism and service delivery.
