Four Soldiers and Forest Guard Reportedly Killed in Suspected Boko Haram Attack on Adamawa Communities
Four soldiers and a Forest Guard were reportedly killed after suspected Boko Haram insurgents attacked Tela-Bala and Guyaku communities in Gombi Local Government Area of Adamawa State on Saturday night. Residents said the attackers entered the communities at about 11:20pm, firing shots and forcing people to flee. The insurgents reportedly operated through the night and later attempted to advance towards Gombi town before troops repelled them. The attackers were also said to have damaged an armoured personnel carrier at a checkpoint in Guyaku. The reported death toll has not yet been officially confirmed. Residents fear returning to their farms to harvest crops and have called for increased security in the area, which is close to the Sambisa Forest axis.
