Troops Kill Eight Suspected Terrorists, Rescue Three Kidnap Victims in Katsina, Kaduna and Zamfara

Troops of Operation Fansan Yamma have killed eight suspected terrorists and rescued three kidnap victims during separate operations in Katsina, Kaduna and Zamfara states. In Katsina, troops responding to reports of terrorist activity near Machika Dam in Sabuwa LGA rescued a 42-year-old victim after a gun battle that left two suspects dead. An AK-47 rifle, ammunition and a motorcycle were recovered. Troops and Civilian Joint Task Force members also foiled an ambush in Kaduna's Igabi LGA, killing six suspects and recovering locally made guns, motorcycles and other items. In Zamfara, two abducted Kebbi indigenes were rescued after their captors fled during a military patrol. The military said patrols and search operations would continue across the affected areas.
