I’m Building EvolvePHP, a Framework for Modernising Legacy PHP Apps
I’m building EvolvePHP, an open-source PHP framework focused on modernising existing applications without forcing teams to rewrite everything from scratch. The project is designed for modular architecture, clear execution lifecycles, replaceable infrastructure and gradual adoption. It aims to help developers move from monolithic systems to independently deployable services only when it makes practical sense. EvolvePHP 2 is currently in active pre-release development. Its package foundations, tests and developer documentation are available for review, but it is not yet production-ready. I am working towards a beta release soon. I would appreciate feedback from Nigerian PHP developers and software architects, especially those with experience in legacy applications, dependency management, PHP upgrades, integrations and scaling. What has been your biggest challenge maintaining a large PHP application?
