How TikTok Made Me Rethink Three Potential Relationships
I have become more cautious about dating because of a few experiences I had with women I was considering seriously. I do not believe every woman is the same, but these situations made me question how well I really knew people before discussing marriage. The first woman seemed calm, intelligent and interested in science fiction. We became close and even discussed marriage before meeting in person. When she asked me for money for a dress, I later discovered through TikTok that she was involved with someone else, so I ended contact. The second was a banker I met while printing my account statement. She appeared responsible, but I later saw posts on TikTok that did not match the image she presented to me, including videos of her twerking and calling herself a “bad bitch.” The third woman sold food and initially seemed mature, but she repeatedly asked me for money for medication and food. I later saw online posts suggesting she made similar requests from other men. These experiences have made me value honesty, financial responsibility and good character more in a partner. I have dated independent women before, and those relationships showed me that mutual support matters more than constant financial demands. Still, I think it is important not to judge every potential partner by the actions of a few people.
