Kano State Police have arrested Abubakar Isma’il, 22, known as “Sankolo,” in connection with the alleged kidnapping of nine-year-old Ubaidu Sammani. Police said the arrest followed the capture of another suspect, known as “Ta’ambo,” on November 5. Sankolo was arrested the next morning in Rimin Kebbe, Kano, after police received information during their investigation. Police described Sankolo as a wanted suspect and said he was allegedly involved in thuggery and mobile phone robberies in the area. He is also a principal suspect in the kidnapping case, in which other suspects have already been charged and are standing trial. The suspect is in police custody as investigations continue. Police said they are working to arrest other gang members and recover stolen property and weapons.
